Gösta Carlsson and the Ängelholm landing
The account
A young Swede came upon a craft landed in a clearing, with crew members around it, and years later became a millionaire pollen entrepreneur.
What investigators found
There were no other witnesses, and the story only became public many years later, told by Carlsson himself.
The story
Gösta Carlsson said that on the night of May 18, 1946, he was walking through the Kronoskogen woods near Ängelholm when he saw a light among the trees. In the clearing, he said, stood a disc-shaped object and figures in tight-fitting clothes, who waved him away with a gesture. When the object left, he said, marks remained on the ground.
Carlsson grew rich from pollen-based products and earned the nickname "the Pollen King". Some versions link the encounter to that success. Today a memorial reproduces the marks of the alleged landing. There are no independent witnesses or records from the time, and the story only became famous decades later, which leads researchers to treat it as a personal account without corroboration.
