Ariel School
The account
More than 60 children saw a craft land near the schoolyard and beings in black clothing who passed on a message about the planet.
What investigators found
The children were interviewed at the time, including by a Harvard psychiatrist. Skeptics speak of collective suggestion. The accounts remain consistent.
The story
On the morning of September 16, 1994, during recess at Ariel School, near Harare, Zimbabwe, 62 children aged 6 to 12 said they saw silver objects descending onto a field next to the school and one or two beings in dark clothing walking around.
Some of the children said they received, through the beings' eyes, a message about caring for the planet. They made drawings that resembled one another and were interviewed by psychiatrist John Mack, of Harvard University. Skeptics point to collective suggestion among children. Many of those students, now adults, still tell the same story.
