Kelly Cahill and the Beings of the Dandenongs
The account
A mother saw a craft beside the road, lost track of time, and remembered tall, dark beings in a field.
What investigators found
There is no accepted physical evidence; the alleged other witnesses were never independently confirmed.
The story
On the night of August 8, 1993, Kelly Cahill was driving home with her husband through the Dandenong Ranges, near Melbourne, when the two saw a lit-up object beside the road. Shortly afterward they realized more time had passed than it should have. Gradually, Kelly remembered seeing tall, dark beings in a field and feeling that something was being done to her body.
The case became known because Australian investigators said they had located other people who were on the same road and saw similar things. Those witnesses, however, were never publicly identified. Kelly published a book about the episode. Skeptics note that there is no verifiable physical record and that much of the account came from reconstructed memories.
