The abduction of Dionisio Llanca
The account
A truck driver changing a tire on the highway was supposedly taken by three beings aboard a craft.
What investigators found
Part of the account emerged under hypnosis, which is not reliable as evidence; there is no physical proof and the case has contradictions.
The story
In late October 1973, truck driver Dionisio Llanca was found disoriented near Bahía Blanca, with no memory of what had happened. He later said he was changing a tire by the side of the road when a light enveloped him and three beings approached. Part of the story only surfaced in hypnosis sessions, in which he described having been inside a craft.
The episode became Argentina's best known abduction case and was discussed on television by ufologist Fabio Zerpa. There is, however, no physical evidence. Psychologists point out that hypnosis can create false memories, and researchers have noted contradictions between versions. For skeptics, the case says more about memory and suggestion than about visitors.
