The Mirassol Case
The account
A night watchman was supposedly taken several times by beings from another planet and subjected to reproduction experiments.
What investigators found
There is no physical evidence, outside witness or document confirming the encounters, which are known only through the watchman's account.
The story
In June 1979, Antônio Carlos Ferreira was working as a night watchman at a furniture factory in Mirassol, in northwestern São Paulo state. He said he was approached by strange beings and taken inside a craft. In the years that followed, he said he went through further encounters and claimed the visitors carried out reproduction experiments, even showing him a child who was supposedly his son.
The case was followed by ufologists and became one of the best-known abduction accounts in Brazil, often mentioned alongside the Villas Boas case because of its sexual element. There is, however, no material record of the experiments. Skeptical researchers note that the account grew over the course of the interviews, and that the origin of the experience remains personal and impossible to confirm.
