The story

On the night of November 7, 1990, staff and guests at the Hotel Bonaventure in downtown Montreal noticed an object in the sky from the pool terrace. According to the reports, it was round and metallic, with eight to ten lights forming a circle, and it stayed motionless over the city for hours. Police officers and journalists were called and also said they saw the phenomenon.

The case was investigated by Quebec ufologists and became one of the most famous in Canada, still covered in reports today. The size attributed to the object, hundreds of meters, comes from witness estimates. There was no official conclusion. Skeptics suggest lights reflected off low clouds or other atmospheric effects, an explanation the case's defenders reject.
