The UFO that crashed into the sea at Shag Harbour
The account
A glowing object plunged into the ocean and was secretly watched underwater by military ships.
What investigators found
Police officers and fishermen saw the lights, and the Navy sent divers, who found nothing. The Canadian government recorded the case as unidentified.
The story
On the night of October 4, 1967, residents of the fishing village of Shag Harbour, in Canada, saw lights descending from the sky into the sea. Thinking a plane had crashed, they called the police. Officers of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police saw a yellowish light floating on the water and a strange foam on the surface.
Fishing boats and coast guard vessels went to the scene, and the Navy sent divers for several days. No aircraft had gone missing, and nothing was found. Canadian government documents treat the case as an unidentified object, making it one of the rare cases with official recognition.
