The official Sky Canada Project report
The account
The Canadian government finally studied UFOs and proposed a federal agency just to deal with them.
What investigators found
The report did not investigate cases: it assessed how reports are collected and called for more transparency and public data.
The story
In the second half of 2022, the Office of the Chief Science Advisor of Canada, then headed by Mona Nemer, launched the Sky Canada Project. The goal was to understand how the country receives and handles reports of unidentified aerial phenomena, since Canadians file hundreds of reports a year with different agencies.
The final report came out in July 2025. It recommends creating a federal body to standardize, collect and investigate these reports, encouraging pilots and air traffic controllers to report without fear of ridicule, and releasing records to the public to fight disinformation. The document does not claim that anything extraterrestrial exists: it treats the subject as a matter of data, aviation safety and transparency.
